At the beginning of the century there was a tiny village, Pilani, like many other villages braving the desert but remaining insignificant. Its pride of course was its pathshala Ėa sort of kindergarten. One day the village woke up to strange happenings. There were strangers quartering and marking land; others making blueprints of future constructions; and yet others slugging building material to the site.

The tiny village bloomed into a tiny complex of schools, educational institutions, research laboratories and centres of technological developments. Today it is everything that is modern and scientific. Birla Education Trust is responsible for starting all that is Pilani today.

"...You are here laying a foundation for the future of India and you are performing a very sacred duty. All that I want to say is don't be contented with what you have achieved. The law of nature is either you move forward or you have to move backward. Therefore, if you want to move forward, you have to constantly work hard with determination and devotion..."

Shri G.D. Birla

Welcome to Birla Education Trust

Birla Education Trust began in 1901 when Seth Shiv Narain Birla started a tiny village Pathshala for the education of his grandsons Shri Ghanshyam Das Birla and Shri Rameshwar Das Birla alongwith 30 other village children in Pilani. The Pathshala gathered strength and evolved to become a High School in 1925 and an Intermediate College in 1928.

The legendary industrialist-philanthropist Shri G.D. Birla, had envisioned the making of an institution which would one day develop into a permanent Centre of light and learning in India. To translate this vision into reality he established Birla Education Trust on 23rd Jan, 1929 and constantly nurtured this institution under his dynamic leadership and far-sighted vision  virtually transforming Pilani into a World renowned Centre of excellence in the field of education. Today this institution stands as a conglomerate of five schools for boys and girls imparting World Class Education which amalgamates the rich cultural heritage of India with modern technology of the West. Thousands of students graduate every year from these institutions fully equipped to pursue higher career goals in the best of institutions in India and abroad.
